As a lifelong rugby fan growing up in the seaside town of Stonehaven, just outside Aberdeen in the north of Scotland, Jamie’s playing career started at a very young age.
Life University
Life University was founded in 1974 by Sid E. Williams as Life Chiropractic College. The school was established on the site of a placer gold mine, next to Southern Technical Institute

Meet Jamie
As a lifelong rugby fan growing up in the seaside town of Stonehaven, just outside Aberdeen in the north of Scotland, Jamie’s playing career started at a very young age.
Joining Ellon RFC at 13 years old following a successful few years with local Mackie Academy, Jamie got his first taste of sporting success in the Les Médi’Ovales International Rugby Tournament in France, where he led Ellon to the 2011 final of the competition in his debut season before returning to his childhood club at Mackie.
Whilst playing in his U18s season, Jamie made the decision to uproot himself and move to Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh, enrolling in Telford College’s popular rugby performance course and joining Stewart’s Melville Rugby Club - his first taste of life as a dual scholar-athlete.
Jamie came on board with FirstPoint USA determined to experience rugby in a new environment whilst working towards securing his degree education, committing to play for the Life University men’s rugby team in Georgia – which boasts one of the top rugby programs in the country.
