JOB DESCRIPTION

POST:    Student-Athlete Manager (Wembley or Etihad Campus)
SALARY/GRADE:      Up to £24,000 + bonus, subject to achieving targets
RESPONSIBLE TO:  Chief Executive
POST OBJECTIVES:    To manage and deliver student-athlete engagement and recruitment strategies which develop FirstPoint USA’s network of schools, colleges, clubs & associations to deliver signing targets from a specified area.

KEY TASKS:

  1. Manage and deliver student-athlete focused engagement and recruitment activities;

  2. Develop strong and productive relationships with key contacts in all independent schools, sixth forms, FE colleges and sports teams/clubs in the designated area;

  3. Increase the number of ‘feeder institutions’ to FirstPoint USA through pro-active networking in schools and colleges;

  4. Deliver presentations to a wide range of audiences on the benefits of FirstPoint USA and sports scholarship opportunities in America.

  5. Assist with the organisation and delivery of a variety of sporting and student open events including trial events, education forums and conferences;

  6. Pro-actively work with academic staff to provide a range of recruitment activities for partner schools and colleges;

  7. Produce statistical reports and competitor analysis;

  8. Assist with the preparation and production of an annual calendar of events, student-athlete recruitment reports and statistics;

  9. Attend undergraduate Higher Education and Careers conferences and other similar events across the UK & USA where required;

  10. Assist with Showcase and other high profile events across the institution

  11. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the work of the Marketing & Student-Athlete Recruitment Team and the nature of the role as requested by the Chief Executive

  12. To undertake appropriate staff development and professional training in line with the business strategic objectives of FirstPoint USA

  13. To work within the policies of Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities

  14. To work flexibly and responsibly and undertake any other duties relevant to the level of the post.

Qualifications and Training

·         An undergraduate degree or equivalent, ideally in business, marketing/sales;

·         A full driver’s licence;

Professional qualification in marketing;

 

Previous Work Experience

·         Proven track record of meeting targets and delivering results;

·         Experience of managing relationships with schools and teachers

·         Experience of working to tight deadlines

Experience of developing realtionships with Schools, Team, Associations and FE Colleges

Specific Knowledge

·         An understanding and knowledge of B2C marketing and promotion; 

Knowledge of USA HE Market

Skills / Abilities required

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

·         Experience of working to tight deadlines

·         The ability to work independently and manage own time effectively;

·         Well-developed IT skills, covering Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Outlook;

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT RELEVANT TO POST

JOB TITLE: Student-Athlete Manager
HOURS: 09.00am – 17.30pm
SALARY: £24,000 + bonus, subject to achieving targets
WORK BASE: Normally, Wembley Stadium for Southern posts or Etihad Campus for Northern posts but any of UCFB/FirstPoint premises as may be required.
HOLIDAYS:  28 days paid holiday
NOTICE PERIOD:  3 months

SUBJECT TO:

  • Satisfactory completion of the Probationary period – 6 months;
  • Compliance with Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 and Immigration Asylum and Nationality Act 2006;
  • Evidence of stated qualifications relevant to the post;
  • Evidence of membership of relevant professional bodies as stipulated by the post.
  • Etihad posts – not prohibited from entering the Etihad stadium
