El Paso Locomotive FC Academy is proud to announce a new partnership with FirstPoint USA, the world’s leading college soccer and university admissions agency, to provide comprehensive support to its talented youth players aspiring to pursue high-level college soccer opportunities.
This strategic alliance aims to strengthen the Academy’s commitment to player development by offering expert guidance and resources to navigate the complex college recruitment process.
El Paso Locomotive FC Academy
Founded in 2020, the Locomotive Academy has quickly established itself as a premier youth development program in the Borderplex region. With seven teams ranging from U13 to U19, including a fully funded U20s USL Academy program, the Academy competes in prestigious leagues such as the Elite Club National League (ECNL), USL Academy League, and the El Paso Premier League (EPPL), providing players with exposure to top-tier competition and national showcases.

Ivan Militar, Director of Academy and Youth Soccer, welcomed the new partnership: “Since the formation of our Academy and the fully funded U20 USL Academy League Team, now competing on the national league level with ECNL, we have been working towards achieving the highest possible standard possible when it comes to college recruitment. We want to make sure that we are constantly convincing our members of the benefits of choosing the college pathway, we are educating them on the different roadblocks on the way to the college path - eligibility, testing, and getting good grades, and helping them matching their aspirations academically and athletically when they are trying to find their school.
With these key performance indicators in mind, we have Alex Pozo who is our College Recruitment Coordinator, George Valenzuela who went to college, played, and coaches in two different states, and myself, who has been promoting the college pathway throughout all my career steps.
We have been successful in this process, as all our graduating senior players at least received an offer to continue their academic and athletic careers as student-athletes on of the many collegiate levels. With First Point USA, these efforts can be solidified and magnified as we partner with one of the top service providers in this area.
