Aspiring rugby players are invited to join us on our next webinar as we welcome one of the foremost coaches in the States, Craig Wlson, the Director of Rugby at Yale University as our special guest.
Yale University is the third oldest academic institution in the country and is ranked inside the world’s top 10 universities. A member of the Ivy League conference, it is one of the most prestigious names in global academia, attracting the best undergraduates from all over the world Yale students represent 124 different countries around the world, making up 30% of the campus population.
Rugby is one of Yale’s most historic sports and counts Presidents George W Bush on its alumni, who played full back for the 1st XV in the 1968 season Craig will discuss the opportunities to study at Yale, while being recruited as a rugby player to their program, bringing his wealth of experience and knowledge to the webinar.
Originally from Scotland, Craig has been in the role at Yale since 2019, having been assistant coach from 2015, bringing a strong rugby background from his time coaching in England and Hong Kong. He is also known as ‘The Contact Coach’ and a leading rugby analyst, now with 60,000 Instagram followers, reviewing collegiate, club and test match rugby.

The Yale Men’s Rugby team recently defeated major rivals Harvard University 46-5 to retain the Cormack Cup for the third consecutive year. The Bulldogs capped their 2024 autumn season with an impressive 8-3 record, with their three narrow losses decided by a combined margin of just 11 points—a testament to the team’s competitiveness and resilience in every match.
The team are now taking a well-deserved winter break before turning their focus to an exciting tour in Argentina and the challenges of the upcoming spring season, including the Koranda Cup and Collegiate 7s season.
