Asmir Begovic is one of the most respected top-flight goalkeepers in England, having played for Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Stoke City, Chelea and Everton, amongst others. He represented his country Bosnia and Herzegovina on more than 60 occasions, including playing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where he faced none other than Lionel Messi in their first ever game in a national tournament.
Always one to keep busy with his off field activities, Asmir has his own goalkeeping academy in England, Bosnia and Germany, as well as his own Foundation, while emerging as an articulate and insightful media pundit. His younger brother Denis is a FirstPoint alum, having played college soccer in the States at Shaw University, and he has a love for all things American sport, being a passionate New England Patriots fan.
