Soccer Popularity in the US Continues to Rise

  America's viewing figures for the euro 2012 games demonstrate the continuing rise in popularity of soccer in the USA. Figures show that ESPN averaged 1.3M viewers for it's Euro 2012 coverage, 51% more than in 2008. Soccer still has some way to go before it's considered in the same category as the NBA or the NFL in the US, but the ongoing increase in the sport's popularity is significant given that the Euro games were not even played in a 'US-friendly' time-zone.
