A young Bath footballer has been awarded a sports scholarship to attend Monroe College in New York. Solomon Lowe, 17, will take up the scholarship this August and will continue to train as a footballer as well as studying for a degree. The former Beechen Cliff pupil has turned out for Larkhall Athletic's age-group sides, picking up player of the year and top goalscorer awards. He secured his scholarship through Glasgow-based FirstPoint USA and said: "It is the opportunity of a lifetime to train every day and be part of a very good football academy competing at top levels. "I also think the opportunity to study at the same time around that type of environment will help me achieve success."
